There are thousands of TODO apps. Hundreds of them are not much different from Bonsai. But if you like Bonsai, you won’t have to look for another app. That’s my point.

How to use

  1. Create a new task. It goes to Inbox. Inbox is just a staging area.
  2. Move tasks from “Inbox” to “All Lists.” Classify tasks there.
  3. Choose the most important and urgent tasks. They go to “Today.”
  4. You can’t move tasks in “Inbox” to “Today.” They must go to “All Lists” first.

Good to know

  1. You can flag tasks as important, urgent, or both.
  2. You can assign keyboard shortcuts to every possible action.

Privacy

All information stays in your iCloud account and on your devices. Your information is handled by Apple, and they don’t share it with us. We don’t even know your name.

What it costs

Bonsai is free to download. You can create your first 100 tasks for free.

The free version is effectively a trial. With daily use, those 100 tasks go quickly. Once you reach the limit, you’ll need Unlock Bonsai Pro to keep creating tasks.

Things is the app I'd compare Bonsai to. It sells each platform separately, so having it on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad costs about $80 USD. Unlock Bonsai Pro is $19.99 USD for all three.
